? for Sumitomo HTR+ Owners
How long did your tires last on your ITR?
I got them in October and put about 4500miles on them so far. I haven't rotated the tires yet and it look like the front tread depth is almost half gone already. The tread wear looks normal.

Compared to SP5000's the Sumitomo's grip sucks for braking and acceleration (especially braking), but its decent enough for the turns on the street. I wanted to get them because they were cheap and I needed some "normal" tires for the winter time. I thought these would last longer than the Dunlop SP5000's though. I guess its not the case?
Anyone else have experience with these tires?

I went to a track day and rode with an instructor driving a MINI with the Sumitomo's. The instructor complained that the tires were the weak link in the car and its sidewalls were too soft. The overall grip was sub par compared to tires such as the SO-3 and Azenis. It is ok for daily driving I guess but nothing good for auto-x or track days.

I put my Sumitomo HTR+ wheels on at 45,000...I am at 65,000 right now and they still seem to have a lot of tread left. I have not autocrossed my car with them but I have gone to the drag strip. I think they are a great "street" tire and like them a lot more then the Kuhmo 712's I use to have.
Just a quick update. Well, I have 116,000 miles on the car now.
The Sumitomo's sucked when they were new, but after they wore down close to the tread wear bars, they get pretty grippy. They make a lot of noise when they are still cold, but after they warm up, there is hardly any screeching when turn turning hard or braking hard.
I'm considering buying another set when these finally wear out.
