Cool new AIM dash....
Hey guys this was (IMO) the coolest new product at the PRI show this year. It does everything!! It's a complete dash, tach, temp, press sensors ect, it is also a full lap timer, sequential shift light, and even has GPS based track mapping (more info on my url)! These are not out yet (prob. in late Feb), we're taking advance orders now and for $1,800 they've been generating a lot of interest. I'm looking for some feedback from you guys on what you think about them...
.....pic fixed....thanks JeffS
Those are pretty cool, I was looking at the AIM data logging and some others at when I was at PRI. What is the difference between that and the Mychron 3 dash? I was hoppoing to get a data logging system before summer starts, just that money thing gets in the way.
Ryan-Who thought the coolest thing there was the Radical SR3(it was for sale also) and second was the AIM dash

you may be right on that radical...that thing is so cool...
as for the diff. bettween the MyChron and MXL...here is what I can figure from the paperwork we got...as I said I have not tried one yet myself...
The short of it....the MXL goes to 11....
THe long of it....
The MXL dash itself is slightly larger and the screen color has changed, they say the new color provides better contrast in a wide variety of lighting including night driving.
The MXL is aluminum, while the MyChron is plastic
MyCHron has 4 analog inputs, MXL has 8. This allows not just temps and pressures but also potentiometers for more advanced data aqu.
THe MXL has 6 programmable warning lights up from 4 on MyCHron.
The MXL has a speed sensor (I think MyCHron uses a calculation to obtain speed but not sure on this one)
The MXL has GPS which the MyChron does not..this means track mapping for idiots in 1/10th the time of MyChron (which only uses time and acelerometer readings as a base for you to build the map).
The MXL has 8Mb up from 512kb in the MyChron.
I'm not 100% on this one, but I think the MXL also offers some display choices, such as lap times vs. splits, constant temp display vs. alarm only, ect...
Also there is talk that the lower line MXL will be targeted at street guys...ie, no GPS and installs simply by plugging in the ECU. It says for CAN/RS232 but honestly have not researched that yet. Cool stuff though...
There are a bunch of other features too, so if you're looking for something specific let me know and I'll see if it's listed in the paperwork...

I guess I should be more specific
my biggest turn off seems to be complexity of display I would get confused with all thes numbers at the same time.
plus it's 1980's look is low on the bling factor - not that it matters but still
