Default Real time 4wd center diff or just viscous coupling

I was just looking in my manual and it says to test the coupling raise the car and run at idle then apply parking brake and engine should stall. This would seem to imply that there is no center diff. being that the front wheel dont keep turning. Any one know for sure. It would also seem that a handbrake turn might be very difficult

It's just a viscous coupling.
