Im about to go get some GM sychromesh and was wondering how manny quarts im going to need to fill up my 97j4d tranny?

 

2 quarts

 

if that stuff wasnt so expensive then I'd say get 3 and use a quart to flush it out

 

How much is it exactly? Does it last as long as regular tranny oil?

 

3 quarts, used honda MTF... well 2 1/2 will do

Just flush it out with 1030 motor oil and put 2.5 quarts of Honda MTF. It doesn't have to be exact. Just fill it up until the fluid comes out of the fill hole and then you know that it's full.

 

Its actually 2.3....but who's counting

 

i have filled up the tranny on a friends race car(goldmember) but it wasin a big old container.
