Any good Hondata tuners in the va/dc/md area???
hello,
just ordered a hondata system, along with a few other things for my set up from ben at importparts.com (thanks ben!) i was wondering if anyone here has had any experiences with tuners in the va/md/dc area tuning hondata???
i have the cars block in cali with earl (thanks earl!) getting the block sleeved and assembled just waiting on some bearings but as soon as i can get it back and in the car im going to want to get it tuned, just want some input on where i can take it that will do a good job and not trying to sound cheap but at a reasonable price too...what should i expect to spend to get it tuned professionally? thanks!
Corey
i'll put the specs and pics of my car up soon, i got me a nice digital camera i need to try out

Inline Pro is located in Springfield, VA. My car is there right now getting finished. They know what they are doing. I don't know how much it cost to get tuned, I bought mine from them and they included the cost of tuning w/ the package.

the only good hondata tuner in nova, "good" being the key word, is steve sakai. he's in stafford, va. he's on here with the username of "sgt".

No, he is solo, SGT Racing is his company.

I used Inline Pro. The car runs great aside from the Hondata bug and crazy idle issues, but they told me about the possibility of idle problems before I left because I don't have a fast idle vavle. Unfortunately, they don't do street tuning. Sakai does, but won't take credit cards. Take your pick. They're both good.
They don't do "street tuning" because they can't and if you ask me they really can't do race tuning just my opinon. IMO steve is the only person i would let touch my car if i ran hondata. SGT gets
from me and he is a good guy too

abacus racing in va beach tuned my car the tuner is shad , am going to rolling down there soon to get 3 cars tuned if you want to find more about it you can pm me
anyone have info on him. I was going to go to inline when mine was ready, but everyone seems to llike steve. what r his prices? i assume he doesnt have a shop if he doesnt take cards, does he dyno tune or just run it on the street?
He tunes on a dyno but it isn't a set dyno he tunes on i don' think no he dosn't take cards and he is kinda expensive but you car will be tuned right the first time you won't have to be going back to him every week saying that the car is breaking up on the high end or breaking up before boost and stuff like that. Steve
thanks everyone for your input...decided to take my car to steve sakai when i can get it all put back together...talked to him on aim and he seems very helpful and knowledgeable...

I completely forgot about this thread, but I think I should respond to this. They don't do street tuning for insurance reasons, and your opinion that they can't do race tuning is just plain ridiculous. I'm not taking anything away from Sakai's abilities, because I almost went with him. However, just take a look at their website, then tell me that they can't tune race cars. Go here, then click on the "Gallery" tab.

I won't be going back to Inline Pro to get my car tuned. I went in with a car that put down decent power untuned and ran relatively well. I left with a car that runs like **** and them telling me that I have some sort of ignition problem. I think it was the tune that they loaded into my Hondata because I had no issues at all before I went to them. I'll be calling SG-T Racing when the weather gets a little warmer. Which is what I should have done to begin with.
