so here's the deal. always in my car i've been running 87 octane since there are no significant mods to require anything higher. YEsterday i decided to try out 89 just because. Now everything in my car is a million times more quiet. The other week i just got around to hooking up the vtec and when i ran 87 and switched over my entire dash would rattle and have an incredibly loud bass tone to it. Now since the 89 it doesn't do that. And with the 87 when i'd blip the throttle from under the hood it would sputter when it came back down to idle more often than not. Do you think it was a small case of pinging or no?

edit: ohh btw i went from running d16a6 to running a d15b

 

anybody know?
