Timing belt service for ITR
Hey wassup guys,
I just bought all my timing belt service stuff, and my question to you guys is, is it necessary to change the timing belt tensioner? From what I heard is no you dont have to, so I am not sure for ITR or just Integra in general perhaps.
Any advice is appreciated.

Depends on your miles. Less than 50K, you could go either way. More than that, and I would change it while you are in there.
But, no, you don't HAVE to do it.
I put 150K on the belt in my Toyota truck, and that thing was driven H-A-R-D. The tensioner was marginal but workable then, with a little play and a little noise.
My take however is, that the labor is more of an issue than the parts, even if you do it yourself. I'd rather put in the extra $100, then have to waste another day tearing it down again in the future. Just depends on how much time, $, and what kind of work s4etup, garage, etc. you have, and how much you work on your car.
