Here's the Scoop!
The new redesign NSX Type R will be released in November in Japan. It get a whole new lighter body and heaps load more torque! The curb weight is rated at only 1200kg which is right where the new Civic Type R and Integra Type R at.
I will post pics tonight!
Some disappointments
The rumor of a whole new 3.5L V-6 or 4.0L V-8 turns out to be untrue (at least for the Type R models) It will inherit the c32b from its older Type S bother, but with a little more zing.
Only will be sold in Japan
Only 487 will be made.

I thought the new V-8 was supposed to come out in 2003 or 2004, and this year, the NSX was only supposed to get exterior changes (restyled front fascia, non-integrated wing, etc.) If that's true, the pic you posted is dead-on accurate. I'm glad to hear that they lightened it... I wasn't expecting that for this year.
I'm guess within the next two years, the new 4.0L V8 (hopefully) will come out. Rumors have it that it will no longer be an aluminum, mid-engine, rwd chassis, but rather a front-engine rwd one... which is sad, but if it keeps costs down and the V8 can make enough torque/hp to compensate for the weight, it might not be that bad of a move. Thanks for the pics!

Some rumors say yes, some rumors say no. Which should tell you about how reliable ANY of the rumors are.
Don't worry about it until you hear it from Honda. Right now it's all Photoshop photos and everyone's guesses.
