Spoon 4pot + 15" Regamaster...
Does anyone know if Spoon 4pot calipers will fit behind 15x6.5 Regamasters with a +45mm offset? Spoon uses +35mm up front if i'm not mistaken...does that mean the +45 wont cut it?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
..look into a Fastbrakes 4 pot brake kit, I know for a fact that Brian is working on a 4 pot brake upgrade that will clear 15" wheels w/out spacing of any sort, if I remember correctly. Check out http://www.fastbrakes.com
are the black blocks the spacers? i wonder if they fit the stock '00 itr rims.

i only have experience with spoon calipers and i have no idea about endless... but it would appear that they are spacers for the caliper... but does it move it inboard or outboard i dunno.
Actually you need 10mm spacer and longer studs to fit them.
I guess the fact I need spacers is not too bad, but longer studs too?

Anyone wants to buy a set of white regamaster EVOs?
The Spoon calipers just don't work with the Regamaster or Spoon wheels but they do fit under stock or some other 15" wheels. The thickness of the Spoon caliper is almost 10mm more so that's the reason that you needed spacers to fit 15" Regas wheel. For 16" then you will have no problem at all.
I have a couple friends that run SPOON calipers with 15" Regamunchers and/or SW388's w/a 5 lug setup. They fit because when you use an ITR/5lug knuckle/hub assembly...the hub is already offset by a couple millimeters....hence the 50 offset on stock ITR wheels.
You'll be ok if you're 5 lug and are planning to use SPOON calipers.
Although WILWOOD's are way cheaper and work the same way....
your paying extra$$ for looks if buying the SPOON calipers...IMO.
good luck.

Two different answers from two very knowledgable person on Spoon products, AJ and Katman.
Jason, so are you saying the combo of Spoon caliper+ 15" 45mm offset Regamasters will fit NON Type R's that have converted to the 5lug setup? I hope so, because that's what I have.
much thanks.

The reason you need a spacer in order to clear the 15 is due to wheel design: in absolut terms, the 45mm offset is not the problem, but rather the design of the 15 inch wheel is. The mounting face (hub) of the wheel is designed in such a way that it is what comes into contact with the caliper, not the spokes.
If you are feeling very daring, someone with a CNC machine should be able to machine the hub so that it would clear the calipers.

..yes..
Basically, if you're running ITR/CTR 5 lug..meaning the whole KNUCKLE & HUB assembly, front and rear, along with the SPOON calipers (since SPOON calipers are made for ITR/CTR knuckles) you will NOT have a clearance problem with the inside of the 15" Regamaster/SW388 & SPOON caliper...it will be super dooper-hairline close...but it will not make contact.
If you somehow rigged/mated 5 lug ITR calipers onto 4 lug knuckles....and you wanna slap on SPOON calipers ...then you'll run into clearance problems...spacers will be needed to be on the safe side.

Sounds encouraging...I'll give it a shot.
mario, you got regamasters!!! sounds like deja-vu man. I was in the exact same position. I went 5 lug, but had to get rid of the wheels. Here's what you can do if you want to keep the wheels. You'll need a rotor spacer and a wheel spacer. The rotor spacer goes between the hub and rotor and you know where the wheel spacer goes. As for how much spacing, you'll need 5mm rotor spacer on each side and 8mm wheel spacer on each side. The 5mm rotor spacer will space things out to ITR/CTR spec which have 5mm wider track up front in comparison to normal civic and integra. You will need longer wheel studs for sure, but that's not too much of a big deal. Anyways, it's do-able. I did the expensive route and sold the wheels and just went 5 lug. It's your call. Im me or call me or whatever if you have any more questions. BTW, have you heard from Loc? The guy must be really busy with school.
Does AJ PwR speak from experience based on attempting this setup on an ITR or Civic w/ITR suspension?
And Katman is also a reliabe source.....
I really want to use the 15" Spoons and Spoon caliper. Its tough times getting R compounds for 16" wheels.
Hey katman - do you have a pic of of what "super dooper-hairline close" may look like? And what offset where your friends using on their spoon/rega?

CTR or ITR 5lug + Spoon caliper + Spoon SW388 15" you still need at least 8mm spacer to clear the calipers.
Other 4 lug application like Si , Delsol Vtec or Integra (std 262mm rotor) which upgraded to 282mm rotor with Spoon calipers may needed 10mm spacer or have to run SW388 at a 35mm offset.

I have an easy solution if you want to run the Spoon calipers with a Teg. Buy my 2 piece rotors. They are designed to fit the Teg knuckle using either the ITR or Spoon calipers....
i have had accounts from other people on these wilwood 4 piston calipers. a guy i know that runs SCCA with a crx went to those and he told me that there is no difference he felt from stock calipers!!!! ben, care to share with us your experiences with wilwood calipers (if that is what AJ means?)
They do fit under the stock R wheels, check it out http://hometown.aol.com/n1civic/myhomepage/index.html
