Default New DataDot anti-theft technolgy.

Anyone know anything about these things? Just heard in the news (australia) that these new DataDots will be placed on cars. So tiny they are invisible to the naked eye and are made visible by UV lights shining onto it. Each tiny dot (about 10,000 of them sprayed all over the car) contains the cars idenficiation number to make idenfication of a stolen vehicle much easier (not to mention harder for pro theives to rebirth them). This stuff is coming standard in some of these new cars (Porche, HSV and BMW) and they also say they'll be available for application on current cars on the road too at a later date.. Heres hoping they'll knock down the insurance costs too.

Anyone have an opinion for/against this new thing? And like everything else we get here did they come out in Japan/America a decade earlier than we did anyway?

I don't think i'll share my opinion in this matter
