I searched and came up with plenty a thread on this but it didn't answer my question. My brake light indicator came on a few days ago so I tried to figure out the problem.
Checked both bulbs and they're working. No blown fuse. ABS, brake fluid are medium level, all the wires seem to be okay.
So what could the problem be?
TIA.

If the Brake Lamp light is on on your dash it could be either your 3rd brake light or the 2nd filament in the brake bulb (the one that comes on only when you turn on your lights not pressing the brake pedal)
hope that helps

Sorry, I forgot to clarify that the right brake light doesn't illuminate when I hit the brakes. Only the one on the left does.

I am gonna assume that you are talking about the car in your bio. I do not know why it is so hard for people to put what year and model they are asking a question about in the thread. Let's go on the assumption that you are talking about your 1999 Accord EX.
There is a sensor in the right rear tail-light assy. If you click on the link below and look at part #20 ... you will see what it looks like. I also believe that the 3rd brake light should NOT work when this is bad ... but I could be mistaken on that for this model.
