Default Dunlop Formula R D01J

Anyone here use these? Well, I got these on my stock 15" not long ago and its bloody noisy! Initially I thought it might be that its new so give it some time to wear in but I've now done over 300miles in them and its still the same. The road noise is almost unbearable but not as bad when I get on it as the muffler noise takes over. Just wanted to know if those who used it here also experience the level of noise it gives as I'm starting to wonder whether the toe and camber might be the contributors and if realignment will help in reducing the noise.

I haven't used them but semi-slicks like these and A032, A048 and the like will be more noisy then regular street tires, that's the price you pay for running on sticky rubber.

i have a set, and i sold a set to zygspeed. yes, they are loud, similiar to the a032 loud, but they have more grip. that is the price you pay for performance.

These tires are very nice but I don't think they are DOT approved.
Was zyspeed car riding on those tires when it hit the tree and totalled?? If so I hope the insurance adjuster didn't see the tires.....!

[QUOTE]

There DOT marked (E marked) for euro road use as thats what we have to drag race with for the street legal racing we do.

I have a pair but havnt had chance to run them yet, got em second hand as there the control tyre for lots of touring car race series's over here ;-)

There are two things that are causing your 'problem'.

1.You have a Type R.
2.You have race tyres on your car.

Sorry if I appear to be rude but it really is not that complicated. My advice to you is to replace both the Type R and the tyres. Seriously.

The noise isn't really a 'problem'. I mean its not putting me off driving it or anything is my exhaust is pretty loud anyway. I know the characteristics of the ITR as I've owned it for over 2 years now. The point of this post was to confirm from the ones who have experience with them, if the extra road noise is normal with these tires as its my first set.

So telling me to replace my Type-R is off the topic and not really helping in any way. Why bother posting?
