Autox expert opinions needed on this proposal
The SSSCC (Sand and Sage Sports Car Club) is changing how they class cars. This is in proposal stage so I submit it to you guys to see if there is any holes in the thing.
Here is the link to the site.

Please fell free to say what you think, Im concerned that the classing may leave some individuals with little or no chance to be competitive. But I was always confused on classes until I went to SM.
Thanks as always!!!!

By the looks of it, the proposal tries to group cars by mixing classes with similar PAX indexes regardless of the level of prep allowed for any given class. Regionally, the main problem with that is that it will favor the stock class cars, which are, by nature, prepared very close to the "limit of the rules", while putting the prepared classes at a disadvantage since regionally, there are usually very few cars prepared to the limit.
Another option would have been to group the stock cars together using PAX. Then either group SP/STS/STX and P/SM/SM2 or maybe any mix from all of those by closest PAX index.

if you've got serious drivers in any classes, you've totally screwed them unless they're in the "higher" of the combined classes.
"All mod classes" grouped together? Umm, so Daddio in the borrowed CM car is going to lose by ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE against a decent AM car... ridiculous.

Agreed.
I would suggest not going through with that. The holes are:
Those with highly prepped cars in the back end of the PAX lose, doesn't matter how they drive, especially someone in FM vs AM. What impetus do I have to drive an FM car? None in your region. AM is king where I live with the likes of 'The Bills'. (Bill Gendron/Bill Goodale). Even all the way down to STX/STS/DS... STX is faster where I am in raw time... ummm... yeah.
You've just gone and made, hypothetically, 8 dominant cars for your region.
Also....

Why only STS and not STX?

Umm, without really knowing what you're coming from (What cars were in these classes???) then there's no way to compare or really speak on how well your new classing structure will work effectivley rendering most converstaion here useless, unless you're intimate with their 'old' classing structure.
