New Header = Check Engine Light
I installed a new 4-2-1 header into my 97 civic ex (SOHC) today and since then the check engine light has be on constantly. I O2 sensor is in place and connected. has anyone else experience this problem? if so how do i fix it.
Second question, I also was working on installing some gauges today (oil preasure, water temp, and volt meter) I can't seem to find the wire to allow the lights to work on them. I want to have them wired up with my headlights so that they will come on when i turn on the head lights. but i've tried mulitple wires and still no results. did i just choose the wrong wires? anyone know of the wire i need to use?

Yep, you may need to reset your ecu, if you have not done it!!

You need to take a test light and go into your fuse box under ur steering wheel, and turn on ur headlights and see which pins light up and shut off with the headlights.
tap the 12v wire that goes to your guage cluster. They way they come on as soon as you turn on your parking lights.
as far as the O2 sensor goes, I have the same motor and the same header. I never had to reset the ecu, I never got a check engine light. I DID end up getting a new O2 sensor because the old one would not come out of the stock manifold. My bet is you damaged your stock sensor during the install.

for your gauges just run your power wire to your dash light fuse so when your parking lights come on so do the gauges...thats how i sis mine and NP
i have had my o2 sensor not into the cat for a while due to new hi flo cat from carsound and recently my check engine light came on. could it be the o2 sensor that's gone bad? ... how much is a new one for 00 si?
thanks. sorry to overrun another's post but it's very strange i was driving in the highway and the light came one today. i must say i drove about 4months with the 02 sensor open just hanging. ... feedbacks would be great nonethless.

i don't have an answer on replacing the 02 sensor. mine was fixed by resetting my ecu info also provided by HT members.
hope you get the answer you need.
