I don't know the wiring exactly...

BUT...

The five wires are there so the fogs turn off with the high beams (and I believe it makes it so they can only be turned on when the headlight switch is at parking lights or headlights.)

I'd wire it so that it just acts like a normal toggle switch (trial and error).

Oh it may be a lighted switch too... not sure...

Post a pic or describe what color's the wires are.

What kind of car? My factory Fogs dont turn off when my high beams are on.
The 5 wires are so that the lights only turn on when your lights are on. And then the rest goes to the Fog harness.

Most cars are wired like that... the fogs are only on with the low beams...

My last car (93 sentra E) I put fogs on and went to get the factory switch and the guy I knew there was like... don't bother they'll turn off with the highs.

In general with a factory foglight they turn off with the highbeams.

I don't know specifically about the civic's though.

no no your right, i agre... its a 00 si... as of now, when i turn on my parking lights my fogs will come on, unless the switch is of... they stay on with the high's and i want to keep it that way... the switch is 3 prongs on one side and 2 on the other, im thinking... power ground and remote? i could be wrong... and the other two have something to do with grounding out the fogs when the highs come on?

In a 99-00 SI from the factory they are wired so they only come on with low beams and turn off with high beams. That is why there are 5 wires. There is a DIY tutorial that shows how to swap some wires in the harness so they come on with parking lights and stay on with high beams. It is very simple to do. So I say wire them up the the OEM switch the correct way and then do the "trick" to make them work the way you want them too. That is how mine are.
