If you have the money, If you don't mind rebuilding your motor every 6mo-1yr.
Its not reliable b/c 86mm is very thin, and between cyl 1/2/3/4... the cyl walls will be thin, and it'll start to "oval".
Street motor.. 84.5mm w/ 89mm crank

what is the stock stroke on an ls crank. I could search it but im lazy. And if i use an 89mm crank do i have to deck the block then? Or can i just use the stock block and go with 84.5mm pistons and still get my displacement?
I remember a couple daily driven cars on here with 86mm.
Its not the best idea but it can be done.
The downfall to 86 is if you ever loose a ring at 86 mm you dont have much option aside from resleeving.

I think i might just go 85mm, and keep the stock stroke of the crank and everything. I dont think it will hurt me that bad.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'd even be more conservative and stay 84mm. just becuase it gives you more room to play with in case you want to rebuild later.

yup.... if you were going all out you wouldn't only be looking at the bore to get more displacement.
If you're going "all-out" you should go 86mm x 95mm that'll be about a 2.2L out of a b-series... Sounds great huh? but will not last long as a daily car.
I'd do 84/85, if you scar a sleeve you can always go bigger after. w/ 86.. you have not option but to resleeve.

Yah im not going to mess with the crank much. I was thinking a basic knife edge or something along those lines. I am just looking for a stront 230whp 12.0-11.9 sec. street car. My car weighs 1900lbs with me without the lexan yet. And some suspesion work and slicks are in the works too. Kind of going for that border line street car race car thing.
what if it was sleeved
and sort of build??
like ported head and h beam rod and acl bearings and balanced crank???
then what would u think for weekends and so what drag car
what compression also
would u guys suggest

How often does this car see the street? Daily Driver? 85mm...</TD></TR></TABLE>
but .002 will add about .010 to the ring gap
