Well as you guys know I crashed my car a couple weeks ago. There has been no work done yet and my car is just resting at the shop. The estimate is going to be close to 8000 in damage including aftermarket parts.
I have all of my receipts prepared and I am just waiting on the adjuster to let me know that he looked at the car. The field adjusters have been lagging because of all the holidays, so hopefully they'll pick up the pace in a couple of days.
My question is how long does it take on average for the adjuster to give the bodyshop the money so I can start work?
Last time I got hit they gave me the money within a week, but it seems as though this time will take longer. So if you guys have any experience to share, then do so!
I'm just trying to gauge the downtime. I hope to get her back early February.
The front end is going to be super clean this time around with no paint flaws. New intake (Moogen). Maybe a different hood and lip also. As of now I'm driving an 01 Cavalier which sucks large *****. It isn't slow, but it handles like junk and it guzzles gas. And the rear brakes are too weak to have any e-brake fun. And worst of all it won't peel out. It just bogs

Claim check can be issued on the spot after estimates are done.
