How do you identify a real spoon carbon fiber hood saw this kid with one on his civic and it has a spoon emblem on the front is this a real or a fake.

 

good question, has anyone really seen a SPOON hood? is it all that? or is sheng-jdmhonda just as good.

 

somewhat related... I have a Spoon C/F EK spoiler. There is no marking at all saying that it's Spoon, other than the box and wrapper that comes with it.

i have the spoon hood..no eblems whatsoever.
u can just tell by the quality.
usually with cheap c/f hoods, when u prop the hood up in the sun..u can see thru the fibres in the hood..this doesnt happen in the Spoon hood.
also the fibres are very straight..sheer perfection. everyone critiques the price for the hood.,.but when they see it in person, they realize why it costs so much more then the domestic brands

 

Yes, the fibers are very straight... however, my EK rear spoiler wasn't perfect. Some of the resin material was not 100% see through. Hard to explain, but 1 spot has a dime size blop in the resin. Otherwise, they are very light but very sturdy.

 

yes, it should be very easy to spot a fake if you have indeed seen a real SPOON hood. I've had mine for some time now and haven't seen anything better. The closest comparison was the BENEN hood.

i have a fiber images JDM hood, although i haven't seen it yet, i'll post some of my thoughts on it when i get it, my friend has a spoon so i'll do a comparison, but i'm sure his is better quality for over 500$ more.

 

i just bought a carisma hood and i'm a little dissapointed with it but everywhere else was backordered

Yes Agreed on the quality of Spoon Carbon parts
the layout of the cloth is perfect no imperfections at all
my lip and wing are sheer perfection in carbon laying
compared to the hood and fenders the diference is in seeing it
plus the fibers are finer than the usual brands

 

the spoon hood also has finer "hatching" than the typical fiber images hood people have or others... its a much tighter "weave" u could say... once uv seen spoon stuff... its pretty hard to fall for a fake one... they look differant and are top-notch quality... u just have to see one to see what im talking about

 

seems as if spoon doesn't like putting their name on any of their stuff..well their headers and hoods anyway
