Just got a bit of cash what to do?
Alright my last car was wrecked by and A-Hole but thats a diffrent story and I ended up getting a bit of cash out of it (4200). Right now I am rolling a 96 Hatchback with only 53k miles on it. It was owned by an elderly couple that probably washed it one time so there are those nasty bird crap that sat on the car for 3 years spots on the roof and hood. It needs a new front bumper (scuffed up and bent a bit) and new paint on the back bumper (big scratchs). It is pretty stock just an intake and full exhaust right now. So I am debating and I would like to here your opionion on the matter so vote away.
(O yea I am a Senior in highschool and dont have alot of time on my hands to be missing with a problematic motor if that means anything to you guys
)

Leave the exterior the way it is, swap in a Y8 intake manifold, and boost it.
You can have a kick-*** setup with $4200, assuming you shop around for deals and what not. And if the FMIC is black, people wouldn't suspect much with the fucked up outside. Add on ASBs, maybe a subtle subtle drop, a few suspension braces, upgrade the shocks, and it'll be a nice sleeper. Maybe not the fastest sleeper but something people definitely wouldn't expect.

is he serious about the airbags and spinners?
first off, you have any idea how much those are at 24 inch? if you walk in there with 4200 dollars they'd take your cash and pee on you.
not to mention clearance issues.
so you could be the only fool in town driving 3 miles per hour on the freeway because any faster and the wheel rubbing against your leg would get annoying.
so people could say "theres the guy with tight wheels, and old birdshit "
just be like everybody else, spend some cash on a GSR swap, get a decent suspension, and some rotas. and then if theres anything left over, fix your ****
EDIT: im diggin your icon man

i have a brand new d-series motor just swapped in (cause i'm poor)... for 4200 in your situtation, i would just throw on an ls for about 1000 and do some suspension work....
I vote for paint it whatever color it was agian yourself. Turbo that y7 and have a bunch of money left over to invest. That will end up making you a bit more down the road than 1000 bucks on some suspension setup that you probobally won't use 1/2 of it's performance capabilities.
oh yeah... when you begin to start spending... dont spend without thought.... cause u may have 4200 right now, but maybe you'll need part of it later on...
meaning... STILL go after the deals... STILL look for the best price... and if in doubt, dont spend!!

i agree with kyoji. i myself have 98 dx hatch. i put a cam in it from Gude Performance. it was only the stage one cam, but it put me into to high 15's with it alone. if cashflow is a major holdback (like most of us), all the horsepower is made in the head. shave it, port and polish it, and new springs (if you do get a cam). try to keep the compression ratio below 11:1 with that engine. only take off about 0. 050" from the surface of the head. that should bring the compression up to about 10.5:1. with 94 octane, that shoud work pretty well.

good luck!
