if i decided to put like a vafc on my dash and wanted to remove it later on, is there a certain type of adhesive i could use to keep from damaging the dash

Velco That's how my WB02 is attached to my bezel around my guages.

 

i mean like returning the car to stock...im mounting a 7" lcd and i dont want to sell the car with it...although velcro would look better then nasty glue residue

 

You can get the velcro off. It's just got adhesive that sticks each side of the velco to the dash/vafc. You can get it off and use a little goo-gone to get rid of what's left.
