Default ?? cluster into 91 civic question

i just got a cluster with a tach from my bro and he said he got it off a 91 civic.

well the plugs all plug in except for an extra plug(blue) that plugged into my old cluster into that white plastic piece in the back.

i started it up and the only things that worked was the turn signal and the battery light. the tach didnt work, and i didnt try out the speedometer yet.

is this cluster possibly from an 88-89 instead of a 90-91? from what ive read, the 88-89 doesnt even have the same plugs as the 90-91, but this new cluster plugs right in. please help me!

if it is from a 88-89 does anyone want to trade?

thanks for the help

-DELL

the pics of the clusters together 91STD(left) , ??Si(right)

the pics of the clusters together again 91STD(left) , ??Si(right)

Thanks Again!

red lines in the redline make it obvious its from an 88-89. plus screws in the gas gauge section.

oh wow i never noticed that before...i kinda liked the redline...i just know that the 90-91 have the high beam light outside the idiot box and next to the turn signal lights and the 88-89 doesnt...

another thing to look for is the seatbelt light, on 89-91 (crx si) there is a seatbelt light right smack dab in the middle of the fuel and water temp gauges.

The square looking gauage cluster with the tack is from 88-91 si im pretty sure, cause i have a 90 civic si and that is what mine looks like, also i bought a 89 si one that looks the same too, so i hope this helps.
