Does our stock LSD do anything while downshifting to assist in decelleration?
I know it is a very good quality unit for OEM. I also understand that a 1.5 LSD and so on work and are helpful.
So is our OEM LSD helpful when downshifting for decelleration or should we just brake and downshift while revmatching to prepare for the apex and the acceleration?
Thanks,
A.
PS just getting some stuff straight before the Auto-X

Using the motor to scrub speed is not the way to do it. the weight transfer will upset the contact patch of each tyre.
I.E. use the brakes.

You need a 2 way LSD for assist during braking. I wouldn't use engine compression to slow your car down either - that's for 4X4s going down steep hills at low rpm. Be nice to your motor....Use your brakes! Slow in/fast out.
Anton,
When will you be autocrossing ? If u have this Saturday off, there is an autocross at Giants Stadium.
There are an abundant amount of great ITR autocrossers in our region to answer your questions (Matt, Carlos, Aaron, Allan, Jeff, Ron, Oscar, etc.). Most are on this web board, also.

Thanks guys and as always Dave,
I thought that the 1.5 LSD assisted 1/2 the amount as you decellerate? and the 2way is equal 1 to 1?
And Dave, I wish I were free this weekend but the Bar Mitzva business keeps me busy. I'm planning and ttrying to get as many of our group together for the Sunday Oct. 7th day. I know you aren't, I wish you were but anyway we are lookin at at least 5 of us so far and I understand to use the brakes when =driving agressivly but what about letting the engine wind down and using the natural inertia of the flywheel "or lack there of" as a decellerant?
Thanks again all,
A.
