well, i am going to need a set of good tires for the drag. my question is this. what drag radials or slicks can i use with a stock offset rim and without cutting out the fender line. i can't use a 14 becuase it won't clear my brakes either. also this may sound stupid...what is the difference between a drag radial and a slick? i know a radial has some tred on it. what are the advantages to either one? lastly what tire would you recomend? i need somthing that will keep traction very well, i don't get traction untill the end of 2d gear with azinis, so i get really crappy times...my main goal is to hit 12s. any help would be great

Hi 98gsrTEG; You asked what is the difference between a drag radial and a slick.
#1 A Drag Radial has stainless steel cord built in the tire, it allowes you to drive on the street and to the track with good stability, the stainless steel cord and the sidewall are alot stiffer and allowes you to turn corner better.
#2 A Slick has nylon cord that allowes you to get maximum bite on the track, but the down side is you can not drive the slick on the street. Slicks are made for racing and were made to go stright and have better tracktion and the sidewall has more flexbility, their is no tread on a slick.
Thanks for listen

I am turbo, and the car will be trailored to the track so i guess i don't need the radials.
so is there any slick that will fit stock offset and on a 15*6.5 rim? the 15s berly clear my calipers, so i am stuck with those.

Nylon, hmmm, isnt that the stuff my stockings are made from, wait, can you guys hear me?
No more thinking out loud.get a set of 23x8/13 on a set of Lenso. The will clear the GSR brakes
With a stock Type R brake setup, you will have to run 15" drag rims and slicks.
A good slick size to start out with would be the M&H 24.5x8.5x15
You can run some custom Bogart 15x8 rims.
We get them for our customers all the time.
Here's a pic of the 5 lug Bogart Drag ON Fly star that we sell for ITR lug pattern users.
