Any educated HP guesses??????????
Ok, check it out.
Short of puttin it on a dyno, anyone can through a number out there of how much horsepower i'm pullin? I don't know off hand how much HP my stock d16 had to begin with, so i'm lookin for some guesses.
I've got a 98 Civic EX (SOHC), with just really a cold-air intake, colder plugs (if that helps or might even HURT by a coulple HP's), and i'm sprayin it with a 75-shot NX wet kit. (Aren't Nitrous Express's nitrous kits rated for HP gains "at the wheels"? If so, does that mean i actually have a little more than 75 at the motor while spraying?) I also have 18's, and i'm bettin' they are takin a little of power away too aren't they? How much of a gain would i be expecting from smaller wheels?

I'm just lookin for a crank horsepower. I know it'll be less to the wheels, but i'm just lookin for an accurate number at the motor. I only said something about the NX 75-shot, because i thought it might be actually a little more "at the motor" since it's rated at a 75 hp gain "at the wheel" by Nitrous Express themselves.
Thanks dood.
ANY GUESSES ANYONE?
Thanks dood.

See now. That's what i thought. So you're sayin that the stock non-vtec d16 has around 125 hp right? i was told it might even be as low as like 90 hp? Damn.

Wow. That was just about as unnecessary as me making a post about how unnecessary that unnecessary post was.

Mm..if it has 125ish-HP stock, then you have a single-cam VTEC motor.
Unless someone mis-badged your car. Does it have all the EX interior features?

Just to clarify this a lil, it's not really weight loss, it's more a lack of rotating mass. 15's are optimal. It takes more to rotate a bigger wheel then it does to move a smaller wheel. However the smaller you go you're getting ahead of yourself...don't really know how to explain that one it's too early.

i think that the canadian ex is like the american lx so that could be why

actully you do get more power with smaller wheels. but its not actual power. having smaller wheel
is basically like you being in a lower gear. you will get more power on the dyno only. accleration
will vary on how fast you are goin.
dyno numbers doesnt really mean much in the real world.
