Open Track Challenge
Hi Everyone -
I just wanted to drop in here really quickly to let you know about our event, The Open Track Challenge. Does 7 of the best tracks on the West Coast in 7 days sound like fun? How about full day time trials at each site using the Formula One qualifying format? There are classes for trailered cars and cars that drive the entire competitive route. And, at the end of the week, a big party and awards banquet at one of the casino-hotels on Vegas's Strip. If you're interested, please visit www.opentrackchallenge.com for more information or www.nsxfiles.com where Doug Hayashi (an OTC Organizer) has laid down the gauntlet to other automotive groups.
Hope to see y'all out there!

cool tracks but it really doesn't make sense to me why not combine the vegas events together instead of making it first and last? that's one heck of a drive for the last event.
ohhh, and no laguna seca??? :-|

It looks like Laguna Seca would have been a better last event. It's the most logical choice, but they probably could not get a track date at Laguna Seca especially a Sat. Laguna Seca is a hard track to get dates unless you already have a long standing relationship with them.
Unless, they reschedule the Las Vegas events to be run both at the beginning or end, I think a lot of people would hesitate to go. Also, a bit expensive entry fees considering most are weekday events (track fees are cheaper on weekdays).
The only thing that will make it worthwhile is if all the auto magazines cover the whole event and they are able to get some big name drivers and manufacturers to compete. Otherwise, it's just a clever way to package 7 track days together and make a bunch of money since it will cost an average of $250 - 285 per track day and you won't even get as much track time as a normal track day which usually cost $100-150 per day.

Sorry that I'm just getting back around here. If you have any other questions that need an immediate response, try our message board at http://www.opentrackchallenge.com or email me. There are already a ton of ITR's signing up, so you guys should be able to lay the wood to the U4/T4 classes.
