89 Teg ECU in my 90 si civic, good idea or bad? help?
I have a stock d16a6 in my si civic, it has only a intake and exhuast, i was told by a few people i can use a 89 teg ecu to get a little more power, is that true? Also i am going to be doing a port and polish on my head ( thats if my motor isnt fucked, see my other forum) and a cam, plus i am going to be raising my CR a little maybe .5 or so. and Opening up my Throttle body a little bigger. So is it worth switching ecu's, and if so, is $35 a good price for a 89 teg ecu, thanks guys, hope you can help.
For $35 you can't really go wrong. I'd get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and tune the car on a dyno with a wide band O2 sensor.
$35 is a great price for that ecu...
as far as gains...well im not too sure if you would gain that much...i know you will get more fuel than the PM6 and your gas mileage would be worse...

will work fine......might have some better fuel maps......wont be really any worse mileage.....my 89 teg with stock motor and ECU got about 425miles on one tank.

lets just say that i actually felt something on the "seat-of-the-pants" dyno, between the 89 Integ (PG7) and the Civic/CRX Si (PM6) computers, with the PG7 being the better choice. im running a d15b2 with siman. & cam, so im sure it should be the same for the d16a6, with the heads being basically identical.
