i was readin through the clubrsx posts and this 1 guy said that his stock 02 type S dynoed at about 162 whp and his brothers stock 04 type S was closer to 170 whp
i dont think theres a difference between the 2 but could those numbers be right

Those numbers are right... The stock Type S average around 160-170 horses. The 200 horses that Acura claim for the Type S is also true. Confusing but let me explain. The actual power of the Type S is 160-170. Acura claim the 200 because they test it at the flywheel. All car company does this, the claimed horse power are all tested at the flywheel, therefore the number is higher. Take any of those cars and dyno test it, you will get a smaller number... They are not lying, but its just misleading... So any car you see that claims to be a certain horsepower, is actually less...

Just to let you know the newer RSX Type S has different valve springs which are similar to the JDM K20A. The 02 rsx has dual valve springs and the new ones have single with stronger metal. If you have any more question feel free to ask. I'm a DC5 owner myself.
