Yep. just found his tranny page.
Courtesy of mista bone:
Internal Differences
There are some minor differences, mainly with the bearings inside the trannys. The diff bearings, countershaft bearings, and input shaft bearings are different between the DX/CX/VX casings and the EX/Si casings. If you are putting a EX/Si gearset into a DX/CX/VX casing, you have to use the second countershaft bearing and the differential of the case you are swapping into.
NOTE The bolts for the ring gear are lefthanded thread.

Damn, that bellhousing is totaled. It seems like a simple swap according to mista bone's page. It should be a simple R&R swap. Please let us know what you find.

So...according to his stuff...just take the DX gearset out of the casing, put the EX in and i'm set to go? I dont know what he means by the "second" countershaft bearing

Okay...bump before I go to bed...
Bone, or whoever responds...
Can I open up my DX tranny...and take this section out (forks, mainshaft, countershaft) and replace it with the section from the EX tranny?
G'Night all!

DO NOT ATTEMPT to swap the gearsets, it WILL NOT work!!!!!!
A few bearings need swapped and then the mainshaft reshimmed.
Bauley, get ahold of me on AIM tomorrow night.

Not really, looks like it could be welded up and retapped for a couple bucks at a machine/fabrication shop. Bust out the yellow pages.

Yeah I was thinking that. Another idea was to weld a bolt in there so i'd have a stud sticking out, and then slide the slave cylinder over the bolt and then have a nut hold the slave cylinder to the bolt thats welded in. I'm gonna haveta talk to bone to see exactly what I should do.

Personally I wouldn't deal with it. It took a lot of force to break it. If you want to save it, I would recommend Magnafluxing the surrounding area to see if there are any hidden cracks.
A reputable shop here in San Diego would charge around $80 for that repair. Good EX trannies can be found for around $95 at local yards, so personally I would scrap the housing.
