so i smashed a guardrail in the rain and have a decision that i need to make ....the damage includes-smashed in tailgate with broken taillights, but glass is intact, dented in rear bumper, and from the impact, my passenger side rear quarter panal is bent and has chipped paint. the car seems to drive the same so i somewhat ignored it. since i have water leaks and my alarm is no longer able to work i need to make a move...the problem is tho i havent got any estimates, i know that it will be somewhere from $1k-2k.......which is more then i want to spend by far. but im fucked without full-coverage. its too late to claim a hit and run so thats out of the picture.....my hatch is stock engine wise, with a flawless body, but has TEIN SS, slipstreams, EG6 cluster and spoon struts/ties/****/lugs, so therefore it isnt worth much more then the damage which makes me feel retarded for tryin to fix......so basically what im askin is do i fix the damage and move on, or do i strip, sell, and get motor (B16A) and EG shell, and put my parts back on it. thanx very much for the advice.....

 

Seems like it would be easier to just fix it.

 

am i correct on the estimate? 1-2k? im in japan so i cant get estimates till i return. thinkin new bumper, cf tailgate, new taillights, and rear panal straigtened with a little white paint .....thanx

 

too bad u don tlive in cali theres always guys doing cheap body work and paint job.
i got my 97 gst painted /side and back kit molded and body work 4 $1000

 

i do live in cali....5 minutes out of San Francisco...
