Default can you use different brand clutch parts together?

when i bought my turbo kit it came with a clutch (used). had a strong red PP. and a worn out 6 puck disk. it grabs pretty decent, but sometimes a little too harsh and the disk is almost done.

i loved my old act setup... wondering if it would work fine to use the current PP i have, with the ACT SS disk since i can get that for like 170ish new. already have a new ACT release bearing. thanks

In most cases, mixing parts is alright, but sometimes it can be a problem. If the manufacturer designs the clutch to work with a thinner or thicker disc or less marcel, etc, then obviously changing the parts will be a problem.

hmm. thats a good point.

anybody know where the best place to get a new ACT SS disk and extreme pressure plate for a 95 ex is? best prices? i dont need the alignment tool release bearing, or pilot bearing. ( just replaced bearings 3-4 weeks ago with the ACT #'s) and still have the alignment tool left over from my last ACT clutch i bought.

local shop, im looking at just under $300 for just the disk and PP. thanks
