Default Engine Swap & Alarm Help

I'm planning on getting an alarm for my car. The thing is i'm going to be doing an engine swap towards the end of January. If i were to get the alarm installed on my current setup, would it need to be reinstalled when the new motor/trans is put in? What kind of work work would be involved? if there even is any?

I'm not sure yet, I'm still lookin around. Lookin for somethin with a remote pager, and the features like tilt/shock sensor, ignition kill, etc... but i wanted to know if it would have to be like re-done if I had a new motor put in.

No i was saying, I want to get an alarm now, but if I have to have the alarm reinstalled when a new motor is put in, then i'll just wait. So I should be able to have it installed now, and not have to change a thing when a new motor is put in? Cause I know theres like a different engine wiring harness and everything with a new motor, because i'm going from a D series to a B Series.

i don't believe your alarm is going to interfere with your engine swap, the only thing under the hood with my alarm is my siren. as far as wiring, most of the wiring splices into the you wires under your driver's side dash, I.E. parking lights, trunk pin, dome light, ignition, etc. no wires will splice into your ecu

U will be fine, just make sure u put the alarm on velet model and remove the valet switchs and take off the brain and don't give them your remotes, a shop might copy down your key, or copy ur alarm, or know your setup and take your **** later on, make sure u bring it to a good shop, not one full of fucken car thives

not too long ago...had a swap done with an existing alarm. it didn't affect my alarm except for my starter/ignition kill features. so overall, nothing got affected. looking forward to rehooking up the starter/kill feature.
