maybe we could do a friday at the track the day before to have some get to know each other kinda thing....i'll bring a grill....

seriously though i am appologizing now if i don't get to meet you....cause i bet we have have a field of 50 plus cars!!!

I can't wait for this event. If I only go to one event this year, HC Showdown will be it.

 

I'll be there all day on friday trying to learn the track. I saw that in car lap on the Mid-Ohio site. It looks like it'll be tough to get up to speed very quickly.

A friday after testing get together sounds good. That way I can talk plenty of trash before we race, you know, just in case.

We intend to be there early with all THREE Cars now! for some Friday testing as well. FYI John McNulty has joined the SPECIAL PROJECTS MOTOR SPORTS Team and will be driving Shawn Bota's old Integra... All legalized and everything!

The date was in August. I don't think anything has ever been official, nor does it have to be. It can be as simple as a MWHC race that we decide to register for.

It was the second MWHC date at Mid Ohio. I thought it was August, but I could be wrong.

What will it take to change your plans? How about a magazine story compairing you & your car to me & mine?

The race is on August 20th through 22nd 2004 at Mid-Ohio Raceway. It is a spectator event that NASA, Mid-Ohio, and Speed, Style, & Sound Magazine are promoting. There will be an import car show, Bikini girls, plus US!

Andy, you can still travel 2600 miles and still get your *** kicked by a big prelude, if you would like..

 

Yeah, I'll be there. Not the same, loosing to preludes. Could actually be much worse come to think about it. I just really want to race James since he won the H1 championship in a CRX just like me. I don't expect an easy victory by any means, it should be really hard. Plus I think it would be a great angle for me to get media and sponsorship to help me pay for the very expensive road trip. I guess I could just ask for a side bar on how the ECHC champion was scared of loosing to me. Then James will have to tow to California for one of our races to salvage his pride.
But sorry Chad, I didn't mean to be a thread jacker. I can't wait to race you and the other guys out there. From what I've seen there are a lot of hard core racers out in the ECHC. And your cars are sweet! I've been jealous of the full fields of all hondas since day 1. This race weekend is going to be a blast.

Having forgotten my 5th grade 50 states exam, I somehow thought Ohio was west of the Mississippi. Yahoo maps has recently corrected this misconception of mine. That is a 2600 mile tow for anyone who lives on the West coast! But on the flip side, an east coaster pulling to mid ohio is like me going to reno for the weekend. Maybe some east coast guys have also forgotten their geography and are not aware that the Mississippi isn't in the middle of the country, and there is a HELL of alot of west to be crossed to get to your neck of the woods. For future events, I think more even tow is in order, or at least alternate coasts every year.

 

IIRC I believe the venue was suggested by a West Coaster....
