It collects the oil (vapors mostly) that would be combusted in the cylinders - which in turn would decrease the octane rating, hence HP/performance...

are the installation pretty straight forward?? and what is the difference between the 9mm vs. the 15mm? are they talking about the diameter of the tubes??

Correct, diameter of the tubes and out/inlets of the can... Installation is a snap.

I made my catch can for free...

Here it is, as you can see I used PVC tubing, clamps, and the A/C canister (well, you can't see the canister, but it has a inlet and an outlet). I cut it open, cleaned it out, and then connected everything together.

sweet find! but i doubt the closing price will be cheap... it's going up as we speak now. since it's SRR... i might as well just buy them from taiwan directly from SRR... it's pretty cheap there.

the SRR can retails for about $80 i think. ive seen a lot of people make them out of the fuel containers for camping stoves, you can get them in the camping section of any recreation/outdoors store. just get some JB weld, some barbed fittings at a plumbing store, and steel wool.

I'd be careful of that catch can. It looks like one of the hose connections has broken off. They should be the same color.
