Hello to all of you. I have a questin about my 1994 accord lx. I bought it about 2 weeks ago. When the car is in idle and I give it a little gas i'm not certaing at what rpm I have it at I can here something like it's knocking or ticking or clicking. It's really hard to describe. This after the car is warmed up. I think that I here some chattering when I first start it up on a cold morning. The car has 153k on it. The guy that I just bought it from had all the routine maint. done on it. It just had a valve job done in may and the car had 149k on it then. Could they have done the valve adj. wrong? I would appreciate any info that you guys can give me. Thanks

 

noise in the mornings is Normal for Honda engines. Some noise from a warmed up engine with 153k is also normal, but depends on how it sounds.

 

My car has had that noise from 80K till now 172K, it hasn't gotten louder I think its just how honda's are......but if it were to get worse I would get the valves checked. IF its really loud and noticable get it checked, mine is barely noticable over the intake sucking in air.

 

Thanks for the info guys. It sounds like something is ticking or knocking when I first start it up then it goes away after a couple of minutes. The car has plenty of power and it doesn't make any noise when i'm driving it.

 

NORMAL HONDA ENGINE NOISE. IF your car was a TOYOTA then it will run like a sewing machine even with 153k. Toyota's are simply quieter than Honda's.

 

i dont know if this is related butt recently my car made a loud ticking or squeaking sound when i turned it on . thought it was normal but i found out that my belts were going bad . that could be one of the reasons .
