Probably a similar thought when people started seeing funny cars. Just the dawn of a new era, hopefully.

Don't you know that you can't express opinions on H-T
Hopefully it'll hook like a **** and a bandwagon will start (a 33in tire bandwagon not a Chris Rado wagon, he already has one
)

Damn Dave, quick with the hater label eh? I guess we should all just think the same, right? What's your opinion on the new setup? Remember, it's gotta be the same as everybody else

not everyone will jump on the 33in wagon , becuase NHRA wont let them race them . He cant run at NHRA, they already outlawed it , its stricly Nopi vehicle and the black one will be racxed at NHRA events.

Good point but... If enough racers support the idea of a rule change to the 33's, NHRA will surely cave and change the rule.

I will have to disagree with you on this one. They indeed "give a ****" about us, but pleasing GM would be first on they're agenda.
NHRA and GM have had a working relationship for 50+ years, right. So how do we remedy the situation?
How do we get them to change the rules? We boycott events, simple as that. If Honda/Acura wasn't there to make up the rest of the field, wouldn't be too lucrative for them would it?
To go faster, Chris Rado believes 33in slicks on a FWD are the key. Instead of conforming to the rules of NHRA he builds it anyways and shops it to other sanctioning bodies, that's genius IMHO.
If we all followed Chris' example NHRA would definately "give a ****" about us, right?

Hey itr206, blah, blah, blah. Come up with something new. The old NHRA kisses GM's *** b.s. is really stale. How about Chris should have waited until the 2004 rules were released to build a new car. And what does winning the NOPI title mean? All the quality teams will be running NHRA/Summit Series. Oh, you get your picture with that cute trophy at the SEMA show. Yeah!!! And we don't need Funny Cars nor dragsters at sport compact events. They have there own series (POWERade) to compete in. Flip-top Celicas, Civics and Neons are not the way to go. That would ruin what sport compact racing has grown into. Chris needs to stop worrying about being so damn eccentric and concentrate on running consistent and winning rounds, not having a cooler looking race car. You want to help this sport grow? Then, get down the track at the Extreme Rush events instead of embarrassing the sport compact scene. All these FWD guys need to worry about running consistent mid-8s instead of trying to run that seven, a la Nelson Hoyos in 2003.

dont bet on that... you never know. You may see Chris's car at NHRA next year.

Nevertheless, chris ghetto glider 2 will eventually be out with a beefer tranny combom and "magnesium housing" that will be nhra legal and see what will happen. Im not gonna say this is the way cause pro cars change every year, but one thing i do see is alot of well put thought that is not an imitation of anyone else in the class. everyone always seems to jump the badwagon as far as pro cars go of late but team norad seems to be the only one coming out with thier own ideas. more

Yeah dude, I'm sure him and all the Norad guys sat around for a long time thinking " Now hell in the hell can we just make the coolest looking car?" Dude you are seriously sounding lame . . . "embarrassing the sport compact scene" . . . you and your opinions need to stay in the 8 second land where they are welcome. Where no one thinks outide the box

Why cant we just get back to what racing USED to be, just that RACING. Who really cares if its NHRA, NDRA or IDRC its all racing and this should be our passion. Some where we all, including me, got all wrapped up in which series is better and frankly they all are. Why? Because its racing and we love to do it. We are putting more hurt on the sport by threating to boycott events just because of rules.
But I like Rado's car and I like this quote the best " <FONT COLOR="blue">“Fast” is relative. Someone going “fast” relative to everyone else doesn’t mean their car or class is anywhere near its potential. Don’t watch everyone else; you’ll get trapped into their channeled way of thinking and end up reactionary (always behind). Instead, focus on a spot out in front of everyone else and push yourself to beat them to that spot. Then you’re only quick! And remember, there’s always someone looking at the spot in front of you</FONT>"
