just curious what the SM guys are using to hold the rOOf down on the Miatas.

some of those guys are using tabs on the rollbar , per SCCA national rules thats illegal.

I just fashioned up some simple brackets out of scrap aluminum...

Actually, deeper in the thread talks about the tabs being only legal in the SE, but their rules are changing this year also, which will make them illegal with the rest of the country.

We tried Aluminum for the brackets at first, but the front of the top has a habit of pulling up with time, causing the brackets to flatten out, which let the top lift. We went with .125" Steel. The additional weight gain was minimal.
