Detachable steering wheel hubs
hey all, i did a search and didn't come up with too much about this, but i have a JDM ITR non-srs wheel (not installed yet) and really want it to be detachable. i was wondering if anyone has done this to factory honda s.wheels or even knows about it. it's kind of looking like i'll have to get someone to custom make me a hub. let me know what you guys think. all suggestions and comments welcome!

Not worth the hassle. Especially since if you have a SRS wheel. Something about unplugging an airbag while the car is "hot" sort of sounds iffy.

But to make a JDM ITR non-SRS steering wheel to work with said hubs would require some serious hacking, fabricating and work that could've been avoided by picking a normal aftermarket steering wheel. *shrug*
I personally wouldn't but with the will and enough money, anything could be fabbed up.

The 2 detachable hubs I know of are tekniq and I believe smart racing. I have 2 friends w/the tekniq, one had probs one didnt.
Getting these to fit on a Honda hub is another issue
You are probobly better off getting one of the 2 listed above and getting a momo/sparco wheel.

good deal, keep us posted on how it works out.
I dunno about the pricing through tekniq.. but there is a gb in the sponsor forum. might wanna check it out, and possibly save some $$

EDIT: the pricing is kind of strange, and I dunno what you need exactly, so make sure to read the details, and IM the vendor.

I havent' done my JDM homework
, so I dunno if the JDM ITR wheel is a momo hub pattern or if it is just made by momo.
I know they (tekniq) do make momo/sparco specific hubs. So, if the above is true it should work out fine..
hooray for no modification if that is the case.
