My front lip got busted off today in an unfortunate collision with a strip of tire in the road (no possible way of avoiding that) so my mom offered to by me a new lip..I am going to get another mugen knockoff so should I go thru good old jdmshit or I found this other site selling it for like 45$ but I dont know how good they are http://phasenine.com/civic__99_00?b=1 let me know what you think

Did they say what they're charging for shipping? I've seen a few places selling those knockoff lips for 40-50 dollars, but charging 50-70 for shipping, and I know Newman does it for 85 shipped now.

 

I'd go for the jdmshit lip...its 85 shipped. The other place is like 55 plus i dont know how much in shipping....

ya I pmed him I just want to make sure it fits right. And you know what is funny, the pic of that lip on their site is a pic of my car...go figure I have to get one from them now...

but I've ordered my si grille from them, they are good

 

What year is your Civic?

I've seen the Mugen style lip on 96-98 Civics and I don't think it looks right. On a 96-98 I would go with the CTR style lip and on 99-00 I would go with either lip.

IMO:
CTR Lip is very clean
Mugen Lip is also nice, but note it is a little lower.

 

I have a 99-00. This is how it looked pre-busted lip. Now I dont even want to look at her

Either CTR or Mugen would look nice IMO. I'd get one painted though, it would fit your clean car nicely.

Edit: Come to think of it, if you decide to go the painted route, try to pickup a Si/CTR grill. It would complete your front end nicely.

 

I planned on getting everything painted this spring anyways (I have an si grille I need to put on as well. it has been sitting in my room for like 4 months now ) I just painted it black in the meantime. I'm still getting the mugen, its what I had b4 and I think it looked damn spiffy

apparently here in SC where my parents live too. I was out running errands for my mom so thats why she offered to pay for it. No way of avoiding it either (I had cars all around me so I couldnt slam on my breaks on the highway) Damn dept of trans. needs to clean that **** up. At least it was a clean break off tho and it didn rip the previous holes I drilled in my front bumper, so I can just drill and bolt it right back up again

the mugen lip sits way too low compared to the side skirts.
go for a oem si lip,
cant beat the fit of a oem product.

I'm too set in my ways to budge from getting it, plus I'm so used to looking at that.. I would really want it to be a spoon replica but I don't know.

as for the fitment...my replica fit pretty damn good. basically no gap on the sides. It kinda just snapped on, it really didnt need to be bolted in, it probably would have stayed on its own
