Default Opinions....Winter drive my civic?

Hey guys! I want a few opinions from the HT people regarding my civic. I have a 2000 civic DX hatch that has 33,000KM (not miles) on the chassis in near mint shape. Has only seen one winter from the previous owner. Initially, I bought the car with the intention of keeping the car forever and one day, turning it into a sunday driver/track *****! But in order to preserve the car, i will have to winter store it because here in Canada, they use alot of road salt during winter and that **** KILLS the cars.

The original plan was to buy a 2nd car (99-00 4 door civic) and use that as a daily driver and keeping the hatch in prestine condition. But of course, being 25 and having other priorities in life (house), buying a 2nd car is not really a feasible idea. Anyhow, i just wanted to know what you guys would do if you had a civic like mine. Below is a list of mods:

Engine:
97 B18C GSR w/LSD tranny
JUN flywheel
JUN clutch
JDM 4-1 header
Mugen Twin Loop catback
fluidyne rad

Suspension/brakes:
Buddy Club racing spec coilovers
ITR 5 lug conversion with wheels
ITR rear sway bar
Endless CCX pads
Spoon Tower bars (soon to have)

Exterior:
OEM SI front lip, grill
OEM CTR rear wing
OEM CTR rear lip
Audi TT HID retrofit

Interior:
Sparco Rev seat
CTR guage cluster

If i were to winter drive the car, the Fluidyne rad, Coilovers, exhaust and maybe the 5 lug will be coming off and replaced with stock parts for the winter meaning lots of work every spring and fall.

I bought a complete piece of crap to use as a winter beater. It's a rusty '89 4WD civic wagon.

buy a second car, but who says it has to be a 99-00 civic sedan?? Buy a cheap winter beater, you should be able to find one for about $1000...

If the option of a second car is out the window then there's not much of a choice to be made. Maybe check the salvage auctions for a beater that can last the winter.

Thank you. For christs sake, it's an econobox. You don't see people buying a beater to not drive their 2000 accords (which are worth just as much if not more than any of these hatches).

Im in the same sitch that you are man and i decided to winter the si and drive my other car. Well i guess i am not in the same situation then huh, me , but if you can afford it get a beater and you will thank yourself. Keep your car in the prime condition that it is. Winter can really take a toll on your car. Good luck with your decision.

wahahhaa... I spotted this and you know you wanted my $.02

Summarizing what you said:
1) Not feasiable to get a beater
2) Don't want/willing to do all the winter preparation.

As you adequately put, the problem is choice. But we already know what you are going to do, don't we?

Wanna add the 4h choice:
The Red Truck serves you well. leave it as is.
