Default Bra for the track?

I'm going to be starting some HPDE in the spring and I'm thinking of picking up an ITR bra from Willard to use just during the events to keep the front of the car decent.

Any problems with using a bra on the track? Are they allowed on cars at events?

I've never run into a problem using one during a track event...the stock bra shouldn't be a problem & will save you from a bunch of rubber crap being stuck on the car!

It really depends on the event organizer. Some don't care, while other will not allow it for the fear of it coming off at a high speed. The best thing is to call up the sanctioning body and check with them.

FYI, pyromaster on this board uses the bra on the freeway and at HPDEs. He hasn't had any problem with it causing any problems at the track where it was allowed.

Sounds like a good idea.

If mine wasn't all chewed up already I'd get one too but, I've resigned to just get the front end repainted when need be. Funny though, I tend to get more bumps, dents, and scratches on the hood itself then the bumper/nose section.

No problem w/ mine at HPDE's--no flapping at any speed b/c of it's very snug fit, and definitely helps if you don't like spending hours scrubbing bug guts away

I've used mine for 7 events so far, and it works wonderfully. I've attached extra rivets to the inner wheel well using a rivet gun and more snap style buttons so the bra grips better in the back. I've never been talked to about the bra, so I dont think it is an issue...maybe in high competition it could be part of a rule, but not in normal HPDE and Lapping days. I looked over the honda challenge rule book and I dont remember anything about bra or any sort of car protection...

even if you got into an event that they didn't allow it the bra comes right off with a few snaps.

No problems with the Honda Type R nose mask, fits VERY tight. SCCA appears to allow a nose mask in HPDE and autocross provided it is not loose, or determined to be a hazard by the tech. inspector.
