Default Gonna give K a miss....I think....

Well, I've pulled the motor and this is how it is at the moment

http://www.pbase.com/image/23644677

I've been tossing up a motor to get me into the 11's on street tyres. I was looking at about 250whp to get my 1700lb (with me) there. Costs for the 250whp K conversion were looking @ around $10000US.

I wanna do something different (Believe me, in Australia, all motor Hondas are different) so it looks like I'm gonna build a motor like Bisi's except a little milder...and injected.

Thoughts, comments????

Disregard. One of my "supporters" just got me a K24 for 1000US

Now I need 5 speed and K20a2 head assembly

250hp is easy to make on a K series. Stick to the idea...but shouldnt cost you that much

225/60 x 15 BFG Drag Radials + 1700lb = "reasonable" launch

1fst: In Australia, we don't get the RSX we only get a wannabe type R so parts are neither common nor cheap

Custom fabricating parts aren't going to be cheap either

Best of luck though, hope everything works out smoothly...

keeping the stock stroke? 99mm?

why did you decide to get a 5-speed and not a 6-speed tranny?

No I'm changing the stroke

With the power/torque in such a light car I think a 5 speed is a better option

Should be dummying up the mounts next week. Looks like the gearbox will be coming from Canada, the crank from Florida and the head is next on the agenda

lol... when k-series does not have the stroke you want, look no further then F and H series. These cranks fit, and some people are using the new 04' s2000 crank (@90.7mm)

Anyways... i was thinking about using an F22A/H23 crankshaft... 95 mm
Like you said, i think that 99 is a bit too high and that 90.7 is pretty low. With 95 mm the r/s would be about 1.62 or something, so similar to that of the K20A engine.. therefore you will be able to rev to a decent number, and possibly have an easier time finding a decent camshaft. All this while still having 2.4L on a big-bore.

The only problem is that i posted up that idea on Import Builder's forum, and supposively the crank isnt strong enough to take the power that the k-series will be throwing at it. Someone told me just to take a 90.7mm crank and get it welded to 95mm if that was the stroke i wanted.

Not sure what to do yet, maybe there are ways of beefing up a stock 95mm crankshaft...
