this is so rediculous who would actually buy one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...55030
It probably works. Lights have sensors that are triggered by a strobe that is emitted by emergency vehicles. If that strobe can be duplicated you can speed up the lights. It's not that "rediculous."
I doubt that one works but there are such things. Theres lights that see the flashing lights, and they turn green and theres others that are remotly controlled devices in police cars. I belive those are for sale on eBay. The ones you pointed out I doubt work.
how this is said to work however is pretty rediculous... by submitting an electro magnetic field. and it says to mount under your hood. yeh, i definately want to mount something under my hood that's emitting an electro magnetic field.
u can get the police strobe kit from NAPA that will actually work. my buddy has them on his mazdaspeed protege. they also work good for tailgaters, flick em on and they back off thinking your local law enforcement. don't get caught by the cops with these though, unless you can pass your car off as a utility vehicle.

actually i think that this is meant to trigger the style lights that have the electromagnetic switches under the road.basically, they sense when metal is above them and trigger the light...i've seen these for sale for motorcycles for years-many motorcycles don't have enough magnetic metal in them(mostly aluminum and plastic) to trigger the switch.you mount this(it's just a chunk of steel) down at the lowest point of the bike's fairing so hopefully the magnetic trigger will sense it.it does work on bikes, but i'd think ANY car contains enough steel and iron to trigger this style light...........sooo,in other words,a waste to put it on a car.
