how fast are ls/vtec integras?
i have a 92 prelude si and me and my ls/vtec fren were lined up side by side on a roll and we took off and i pulled on him hard, when we stopped he ask wat gear i was in and i said 2nd and he said he was 3rd ^_^, and from a stop i took him by 1/2 car length till we shut it down around 80-90 mph cuz a red light was rapidly approaching, my si has intake and exhaust
The question is too vague. What kind of car was the ls/vtec in? Do you know exactly what mods he has? A basic ls/vtec conversion will make around 160-170whp, and an expensive one will put down 190+ (depending on how far you go). I believe some magazine did an ls/vtec conversion, and stroked the engine to 2.0L - it made close to 190whp, but I don't remember what else they put in it or what the redline was for it.
I don't get it. Why is the LS block with VTEC head more powerful than a GSR B18?

You can use any b18c or b16a head for the conversion.
The LS crank has a longer stroke than a GSR crank, more torque.
the ls block is slightly bigger then gsr one....by a 40cc not that much...but its still more....ur talking about 1797 cc from the gsr and 1834 cc for the LS, also the stroke in teh LS block is 89mm to the gsr's 87.2mm....more torque..BUTT...the LS block has lower compression soo it wouldn't be as effective..u can search for the topic.....or find a reference webpage....this engine cost alot of money to setup but if setup up right its a monster N/A motor...

Actually, compression is relative to which head you use. The B16a head on an LS teg has a high cr than the GSR, and I think (forget though) higher compression than the ITR engine (B18c5).

If I wanted to do an LS VTEC, I'd do an LS block, some ITR pistons I believe, keep the LS rods, and see about some ITR or cams. (b16 head.) All stock stuff, and should be easy to find.
they are slow cars period. Atleast that is what i think and no every one does not feel the same way. I mean i think a type R is a good car and is pretty fast. But for all the hype and the price. I would hope it would be alot faster. But i think a Prelude should run any other honda in to the ground. Depending on the motor. I had an si prelude in fact i ran two of the motors into the ground be for i got my JDM h22a then. **** it was a hole new world it is like a turbo when the vtec kicks in. I don't care if you are a Type R /rsx type S or V8 i am running you and "YOU WILL GET THE HAZZARDS BEFORE I GET INTO 3rd GEAR!!!!" You'll run any car? and you gaurantee you'll hazzard them before 3rd gear with your H22A that feels like it has turbo? I wouldn't bet my life on that... What if someone in here has a Porsche 911 Turbo and wants to run you? Then I'm pretty sure your H22A will surely get a new ******* by 3rd gear...

So what if it beat me for how much the car cost i hope it would beat me. And i still would run it any way i will run any one it dosen't mater what car it is it's about the driver.

wow joe, you're way off. Jdm itr pistons with a b16 head is about 11.1or 11.2:1, Usdm ones should be about 10.8:1. Ctr are ridiculous like around 12.6:1
