Default Race gas???

Some dudes were talking about using 118octane race fuel in their cars. Does this give any noticeable performance? What are the pros/cons of using race fuel on a stock type-r? Thanks in advance.

You can't use race gas on a stock type R because of the fact you'll fry the catalytic converter. Besides, there won't be any noticeable gains on a stock car anyways. My Cobra runs on Race gas, 104 on the street, 118 on the track Gets to be knd of expensive though

One of the purposes of high-octane fuel is to fight off detonation. Seeing as your R is stock, you shouldn't be anywhere close to detonating anyway, so it would be useless. The only time you might need race fuel is if you are running super-high boost or compression.

The higher the octane, the less power the gas has. Octane isn't combustable. Its stabalizes the gas to keep it from exploding without a spark.
You would only see an advantage if you raised you compression to 12:1 or advance the **** out your timing. Everything else will be in your head.
