Default Falken Azenis Update

For those of you with Falken Azenis, how many miles have you put on them so far and how are they holding up?

The time has come for me to get new tires, and these are on top of my list.

I'm on my second set. I put 12,000 miles on my old set (incl 4 racetrack outings) and they are still actually legal. The they wore quite quickly for the first 6,000mls, then the compound wasn't so soft anymore, and the last 6,000mls wore very slowly.

I"m not sure, I don't have the Azenis or the JDM rims anymore. But they were great while I had them.

Thanks Guys!
I finally got it through my head that the AVSi in 205/50/15 are no longer available, and at $60 these might be "suitable" replacements for the 032R.

Do the tires have a certain direction they have to rotate? My Toyo Proxes RA-1 do & I was just curious.

it's not directional, but it is asymetrical...there's an outter and inner side to the tyres.

How would you guys rate the rain performance on these tires? Hydroplane resistance?

-Dozed - Who wishes he knew about the Azenis before he bought the POS KUM-ho's.

i've had them on for about 2k now , with a tack event, they are holding up real nice, still like new, and they grip awsome on the track and rain. i have the 205/50/15's and i got them for $60/ea at http://www.vulcantire.com

IMHO, wouldn't say they're awesome in the rain, but a lot more reassuring than the 010s.

Dozed,
Try increasing your pressures on the Kumho's. I hated the tires until I ran them at 40F/38R. Sounds high, but grip increased and noise decreased without any noticeable depreciation in rain performance.

Thanks for the advice. Right now I have 'em at 35F/34R. I'll have to try it out those pressures. For grip, people told me to set them at 33F/32R.

i just ordered a set from http://www.vulcantire.com I went with the stock 195/55/15 size. Can't wait to get them, since my RE010's are pretty shot on the inside edges.

Who here really runs these on the streets in the rain (daily driver?) and can seriously say they are better or worse than the RE010's stock. My opinion from looking is that they will be horrible, yet I really want to get them, especially since they are semi comparable price to Kuhmos which is the next choice.
If someone has experience besides track/auto-x, please share! Thanks.

The type R group rocks, not to say that we're responsible for shortages, but it just makes me laugh...many instances come to mind:
1) LS door handle trim w/o lock...when I tried to order: backordered
2) HID Lights, $400, about 40 of us bought them
3) Rota's, I think many people bought them or are buying them
4) Falken Tires...now backordered..
who can blame us, we research well, find good deals, and it makes sense that we all jump on, and shortages will follow.

P.S....who knows about these things in rain for daily driving??

Drive with them everyday; like I said (see above) these tires are not "awesome" in the rain, but are better than the RE010s
