What wheel gap is the best for performance (NOT LOOKS)
WI just installed new 205/50/15 Potenza RE730 and I was wondering what wheel gap should I have for performance street riding (not looks). Right now I have about 1.5 finger gap between the tire and the fender front and rear and I have notice that the car bounce a little (specially in the front). Is that too low? What is the wheel gap in a stock ITR? I am running ground controls with KYB AGX in the softest setting (1), should I set the front to #2 setting to reduce the bouncing? Will that help?
There's no way of telling without test-n-tune. Drive to an empty parking lot and play with the shocks first. KYB is 7pt adjustable? Once you tune the shocks, then mess with the ride height. Everyone's perception of "performance street driving" is different.
The KYB for the GSR are 4 position adjustable front and rear. The problem is that at low speeds feels good. But I ask someone to deive my car while I was in a different car just to see how it rides and Ito me ita was bouncing a little in the front.
well, it seems that it's gotta be turned up to a stiffer setting... but what are your front springs rated at? I'm no engineer, but there's definitely gotta be a compromise between the spring stiffness and the shock settings. I just learned this past weekend, that the best place to test your suspension is at the autoX events. If there's one coming up, try it out.
I think the spring rates for the Ground Controls street kit are 350 Front and 250 Rear and those are the ones I have on my car. Will try to stiff a little just in the front tomorrow.
