i have brembo cross/slotted rotors and AEM pads. I haven't had them for a year and they are screeching on the pass. side pretty bad. Sounds like metal on metal screeching, and loud too. Is it the rotor or pads.

 

Probably the pads, you might have glazed them, or just worn them really fast

 

Can't you check to see whether or not it's the rotor touching the metal part of the pad?

ya its usually the pads , i heard the cross drilled rotors fu**ing eat pads up ...check into that. .....you don't want to spoil the rotors.........all you got to do is take off the wheel and find out!!!

 

what kind of pads should i get. Autozone is the only place open tomorrow

 

Do you get the sound when moving or braking? It's probably just the pad, but look over the caliper, too and see what kind (if any) wear there is on the rotor.

I'd recommend the cheapest set of OE spec pads from AutoZone and then contact http://www.cobaltfriction.com for soem Axxis Ultimate pads with some new fluid.

Anwayz...Yeah the only way to tell for sure with the brake is to take off your wheels and inspect the pads, calipers, disc and so forth to see if it anything is abnormal.
