Hey, i was thinking of buying something really nice. I really want a itr but i also want a s2000. I want a car that is really fun to drive and handle's awesome. I have driven a s2000 and loved it but havent driven a itr. I was just wondering what you guys thought was a better car for someone who just loves to drive.
I owned a 1998 ITR and that thing is a blast to drive, but it recently got stolen so I purchased an S2000 and I think it's more fun to drive.
The S2000 is less likely going to get stolen, but the ITR I think will still turn more heads if you want a car to impress people heh.
The 2004 S2000 has 2.2L more 240 HP and 163 torque, in a car that weighs ~2800 lbs, that's a lot of fun buddy!
It's up to you, it's up to what you can afford, and what you want to end up doing to the car.... you might get tired of the ITR, I got tired of my ol ITR cause I made it into a bucket (no P/S, A/C, rear seats)...

Didn't you post this same thread in the S2000 forum? I guess you want both perspectives.
I think a S2000 will turn more heads, partly due because a lot of people have no idea what it is and plus it's a convertable. I do not receive many looks with the top up though.
Like I said in the other threads, you are comparing apples and oranges.
S2000 is RWD. ITR is FWD.
S2000 is a 2 seater. ITR is 2+2.
Both cars handle totally different (see RWD vs FWD and weight distribution).
IMO, a S2000 is a much more fun car to drive. If you could live with a 2 seater and live with not having that much luggage space, then I would pick the S2000 every single time.
You need to drive both.

haha yea i did post in both forums because I wanted to know what both sides thought. I actually like Fwd better, I do have a garage here for the car but im not always here. I like the itr because it is a rare car but the s2k I still love. Both cars I can rev high and just have fun in.

Both handle well. The car with the quicker driver will have the quicker time.

First of all I guess I do love to drive my ITR but haven't driven an S2000. I have never owned a RWD car and I think if I did, I wouldn't have it long. The R is awesome due to it's lightweight are exclusivity but does instill paranoia. On the flip side, the S2000 is pricier. Drive both, then decide. I'll stick with the R anyday.

I agree - they are two different cars. Both are nice, but they are very different in terms of their non-track capabilities. Don't get too hung up on which one is faster or handles better; that is not where their primary differences lie.
Here are a few more things to consider:
1. Do you like driving around with the top down, and would you do it a lot of the time?
2. Do you sometimes have the need to have a third person in the car, or two people and a dog?
3. Do you sometimes have the need to haul fairly large items or lots of stuff on shopping trips?
4. Do the groups that hold track events in your area allow convertibles to participate? (Many do, many others don't.)

Are you limited to those two cars only? If not, I recommend test driving an EVO if what you're looking for is pure driving experience. When i was in the market for a new car 2 months ago, i didn't care much for the EVO. However, after driving it, i knew it was the car i had to have. Not only is it fun as hell to drive, but its extremely convenient as it has 4 doors and AWD. The potential of the stock 4G63 block in the EVO is incredible, even with the stock turbo. People are hitting 12's with bolt ons and ecu upgrades.
I never owned an ITR, but i used to own a pretty highly modded all motor gsr mated to an ITR tranny. I also have driven my friend's stock ITR many times and the way the cars handled were extremely similar. I got a chance to test drive a used S2000 at the dealership, so getting on it hard wasn't a problem. The overall quality of the car feels much better than the integra. If you ask me, i don't know why Acura put the integra into the Acura line up. The car has econo-car interior. Definitely if you choose the S2000, you are choosing a car with higher class. Chicks will most definitely dig it (although you shouldn't need a car to get chicks). The only thing about the S2000 is that it is extremely scary to drive it hard (thats part of the fun). While it is easy to correct an error on a front wheel drive car, the rear wheel drive will just punish you hard for your mistakes. However, put the car in the hands of an experienced driver and it is very rewarding.
Pro S2000:
-More fun to drive (subjective)
-Better looks (subjective)
-Higher build quality
-More torque
-OEM HID
Pro ITR:
-More convenient
-More rare
-Lots of aftermarket potential for the b-series
Con S2000:
-Easy to crash your car (as skafia has proven)
-Not exactly convenient
Con ITR:
-Can't sleep without thinking about whether your car is getting stolen at that instance
-Getting OLD
-Higher insurance rates (due to high theft)
All of the above is mostly my personal opinion. Both cars are extremely fun to own that i think you need to have both cars for at least 1 week to make a decision. Since thats most likely not possible, i think thats the reason why some of the people here are telling you to get both hehe. Good luck

thank you, you have a couple of points i did not think of. The fact is my friend and I were driving the s2000 and the back end seems to come out which scares me. I live in Dickson Tn, a country town so people will not really know what a itr is so i wont have to worry about it being stolen as much.
I love the looks of the s2000, but I think i like the looks of a jdm itr more. Im going to buy a used one so i might just see which one is a better deal. thanks to everyone you helped me alot.

I own an ITR and I have to say it is fun as hell to drive. Of course I can't compair to the s2k because I've been deprived of driving one. The ITR is cheaper which would leave more money to modify the engine!
Hard choice!

I almost bought a CW ITR, but it really didn`t make sense in the long run. Plus, I didn`t want to worry about it 24/7. It`s just a car. I went with an S2000 and don`t regret the decision at all.

i was in your position not to long ago.... but i decided on the ITR because it was more affordable, so I don't have to worry about a tight budget..... I also love the itr... cause it is just super fun to drive and a lot more practical....
the s2000 is also fun to drive.... but the 2 seater and limited trunk space is what kind of made me decide on the ITR
the biggest problem with the ITR is that you will live in constant fear of the fact that it might not be there tomorrow.... but you get used to it after a while...lol
its a tough choice, but both are great cars
i went with the ITR and never looked back.... and have enjoyed everyday with it..

I had a best friend that owned and autoxed an ITR, but sold it to purchase an S2000. He was never really happy with the S2000 - sure he liked it, but he always felt it was lacking that something special that the R has. He regretted selling the R and eventually got rid of the S2000 after less than a year.
