Is there a better ecu i can put in my stock 90 si civic
So is ther a better ecu to use in my stock 90 si civic? Is a zc ecu better? or should i just stick with my si ecu and chip it? just wondering kinda new to this stuff, trying to learn.
if you can find an 88-89 integra ECU, that would give you a little more. my friend has ran one in his 90 CRX Si, and has had no problems. pulls alot harder then stock. really.
So im going to be dumb for a sec, like i said im new to this, so if i find a 89-90 integra ecu, what do i have to do just unplug mine and plug it in, or are the certain steps i have to take?
yes you just unplug yours and plug the new one in. you may want to disconnect the battery, for safety reasons. the 88-89 would be the best, because the 90-91 has more agressive fuel tuning. it probably wouldn't be as good for normal driving. I would think that atleast.

simply putting a teg ECU on your D16 is not such a good idea

why not exactly? my friends has been working great for a while. he's had it in for 6-8 months with no problem. it may run a little rich just cruising but it's great for fun driving. what problems could happen?

precisely that, it runs rich. a better solution would be taking the maps of the teg ECU and tuning them for the right engine.

Make SURE it's an 88-89. 90 is the B18a which will KILL the little d16a6 engine with fuel.
88-89 is a 1.6L DOHC engine rated at 112 HP, so it's VERY similar to the stock engine in the 88-91 Civic, only slightly better because of head design.
Hope this helps.

I'm using a PR4 from an b18a obd0 integra ls in my ef with a zc no modification better mapping equal to a b series but you will probably need a fuel pressure regulator cause sometimes it can run rich just a thought
