Main Relay problem? in the cold?
Well once again the cursed main relay question pops up. My 1992 accord ex has been pulling of stunts that I beleive to think its the main relay. It's weird becuase everyone seems to think its caused by warm weather. up here in the northeastern united states it hasnt been all to warm. very cold acually. well what my car does is stall out alot when i first start it. constantly having to start it. then having it stall out soon after. after a good 5-10 mins of cursing at my car and looking like an idiot, its good to go. Is this a main relay problem or no? I have recently replaced the spark plugs, wires, and ignition coil with msd and ngk. Please, any info would help?
In almost all cases, a bad main relay will not power the fuel pump. If you hear your pump run during the 2 seconds or so that the Check Engine light is lit when you first turn on the ignition, I would look elsewhere for the problem.
I would check out the fast idle valve, TW (water temp) sensor, and stuff like that to start with.
